The three construction materials are wood, steel and rope. Wood is the cheapest material and is used the most in the bridges constructed in the game. Steel is the most expensive and can only be used with special anchoring points. Rope has a middling cost but can only work if it works to extend support to any element.

Once you have constructed a bridge, you are required to test it before it can be put into service. There are two types of tests available. The first test is to pass two cars one after another over the bridge. The second test is to pass two heavy trucks over the same bridge. The bridge is considered passed if it can bear the lower weight of the cars though you only get a 100% score if your bridge can bear the stress put on it by the trucks.

The thing about the bridge constructor game is that it is not realistic as far as bridge designing is concerned. The game works more like a puzzle with the idea to put in the right pieces in the right places in order to be able to win the game.
